Jeremy Knight
theatrical projection design and videography

Legend of the Ring (2004)

By Richard Wagner. Directed by Mark Streshinsky. Produced by Berkeley Opera at Julia Morgan Theater, 2004.

My first theatrical projection project. Three simultaneous video streams were provided by a stack of three DVD players operated by a single remote control. The production was successfully revived in 2010, with considerable modifications to the projection design, and run, at last, on a computer.

Jeremy Knight's video projections (fishy Rhine, Mime's workbench, magic fire) are pure delight.

The astute pictorials—mostly dynamic projections by designer Jeremy Knight—were brilliant.

The director creates the opera's myriad settings, with palaces, caves, mountain summits, fire and water suggested in photo montage and film by videographer Jeremy Knight.
     —Georgia Rowe, Contra Costa Times

Sets were projections realized by Jeremy Knight, among the most effective low budget efforts I have ever seen. Moods created by wind-blown clumps of dark trees, or barren rocks, for example, were almost magical.
